Perfect B&B in Michigan for a Romantic Fall Getaway

Are you dreaming of a fall getaway, where just you and your sweetheart can spend quality time together with access to romantic amenities? Do you picture scenic drives down country roads lined with an array of trees in autumn hues? How about a quiet stroll in the woods with nothing but the sounds of the leaves falling to the ground? You may imagine sitting outside sipping your favorite wine as you look out across a beautiful vineyard. Better yet, you can see yourselves snuggling under a warm blanket as you warm yourselves by a glowing fire, or admiring the twinkling stars in the night sky. Make this dream a reality! Our Castle in the Country is the perfect B&B in Michigan for a romantic fall getaway.

Our southwest Michigan bed and breakfast is ideally situated on 65 acres of woods and trails with an outdoor firepit and in-room gas fireplaces. We are surrounded by winding country roads, wineries and vineyards, and orchards and parks, including a dark park in nearby Vandalia, MI – perfect for stargazing.

Woods & Trails

On our Castle grounds, you will enjoy acres of natural beauty, including our own woods with several trails for walking and biking. Every day throughout the fall the woods change as the leaves on trees change colors until eventually dropping to the ground. As the trees shed their leaves in the fall months, the sky opens up and the tree branches become art in their own right. Every day is like a different landscape painted just for your viewing pleasure.

Guests bring their own bikes or rent our fat tire bikes, perfect for the trails in any season. The mornings offer the golden aura of the sunrise, the sounds of nature as it awakens, and time to stroll amidst a more quiet and serene environment. Afternoons are warmer and migrating birds can be heard in their flight, but there’s plenty of space to stretch out and relax with just the two of you. As evening envelops the sky, you can admire the sunset before heading back to warm up by the firelight.

Firelight & Starlight

Our charming gazebo with twinkle lights and our covered deck with fire pit are where couples love to sit and relax throughout the fall evenings. With a hot cup of cocoa or fresh apple cider, you and your sweetheart can enjoy intimate conversation against a backdrop of night sounds and twinkling stars.

For a better look at the night sky, venture to our private lake. Here, you can cuddle on a blanket to see the setting sun and emerging stars as you talk about your dreams. For a bit more adventure, head to award-winning Oval Beach in nearby Saugatuck. The beach is nestled among towering sand dunes and open year-round. For those of you who are avid stargazers, head over to Vandalia, Michigan’s Dr. Lawless Dark International Dark Sky Park about an hour’s drive from The Castle.
