Breakfast at the Castle
If you’re a self-proclaimed “foodie,” then you’ll be especially happy to know that you can expect a full gourmet breakfast each morning, scratch-made on site in the Castle Kitchen. Breakfasts begin with a homemade baked goodie right out of the oven, served with fresh-cut fruit and juice. For the main entree, our breakfast menu alternates between sweet and savory each day, and changes throughout the year so we can take advantage of fresh, local ingredients from local farmers markets, fruit stands, and food purveyors. Sometimes, we even get fresh ingredients from our “backyard,” like ramps (wild onions), which make a perfect addition to one of our favorite spring recipes: Ramp & Asparagus Quiche. Owner and self-taught chef Herb creates some amazing main entrees featuring his very own sourdough bread for such delicious dishes, such as:

- Buttermilk, Blueberry, or Cornmeal Pancakes
- Tomato Basil Quiche
- Smoked Gouda & Caramelized Onion Quiche

Of course, we recognize our guests may have dietary restrictions or food preferences, so we’re happy to work with you to discuss possible modifications to accommodate your needs and wishes. We only ask that you let us know ahead of time, so our chefs may be prepared with the proper ingredients on hand!
Dining Room with a View
Another special aspect of our breakfast is how it’s served. We’ll bring breakfast to your own individual table for two in our cozy yet spacious dining room. Sunlight streams in during the morning, and a warm and cozy fireplace contributes to a romantic atmosphere. Plus, our dining room has one of the best views, with many windows overlooking the pond and the rolling hills and lawn below. You’ll enjoy a front row seat to wildlife viewing throughout the year, including several different types of migratory birds. In fact, one morning, a beautiful blue heron attracted the attention and wonder of our guests. This is the ideal space for waking up in the morning and planning your fun-filled day together.
During the check-in process, you’ll have an opportunity to choose your own breakfast time from three options: 9:00, 9:30, or 10:00 am. If you’d prefer to head out earlier that day, then we are happy to put together a to-go bag for you to pick up in the morning.

To make your stay extra romantic, when you add on one of our packages, we offer to serve breakfast to you in your room. You’ll be able to enjoy a leisurely and private breakfast without ever having to leave the comfort of your private guest room or suite!

Charcuterie Board in the Igloo
You have the option to rent our romantic igloo for two hours. Here you can snuggle on the comfy sofa by a warm fire, and nibble on scrumptious meats and cheeses from our charcuterie board as you enjoy the 360-degree view. During the warmer months, our igloo becomes a garden dome, where you can admire the views of nature.
Romantic Dinners
There are two options that enable you to add dinner to your dreamy getaway. Our Celebration Package comes with a romantic dinner for two on the Castle grounds. We’ll prepare a full meal full of fresh and seasonal ingredients, packed into a basket, and delivered to your room. You may choose to dine in your room, in the dining room, or at a secluded spot outdoors.
Our Royal Treatment Package also includes dinner in the form of a voucher. This voucher can be used at one of three top Michigan restaurants. These reputable dining establishments specialize in elegant cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. We’ll help you choose the best restaurant for you, so you can enjoy a night of fine food, good conversation, and togetherness.
Luxurious Guest Rooms with King-Size Beds
When it comes to a B&B, the bed is just as important as the breakfast. You will likely spend about 1/3 of your getaway sleeping. So we strive to provide the most comfortable mattresses and linens. Plus, our 8 guest suites feature king-size beds. Of course, if you prefer to snuggle, we also have two romantic guest rooms with queen-size beds. Each room and suite is well-appointed and beautifully decorated. You’ll also appreciate the special touches, such as gas fireplaces, jetted tubs, 2-person showers, Keurig machines, and much more.
