Gazebo in the snow

OUTDOOR WINTER ACTIVITIES AT CASTLE IN THE COUNTRY

Our 65 acres provide ample opportunities for you to get outdoors to enjoy the crisp, fresh air. When you’ve had your fill, you’re just steps away from your cozy guest room where you can warm up and relax.

Snowshoeing

Did you know that snowshoeing is one of the oldest forms of transportation? It’s also an easy way to enjoy the snow, even for beginners. You can experience the tranquility of the winter season while enjoying the natural wildlife all around our Castle property. Ask us about our complimentary use of snowshoes. You can also rent a pair at Landsharks in nearby Saugatuck.

Fat-Tire Biking

We have fat-tire bikes for rent so you can ride the trails, even in the winter time. The bike’s fat tires enable them to roll over snow, sand, mud, wet roots, and rocks that might otherwise be impassable.

Winter Hiking

We have several trails through our 65 private acres for a peaceful stroll through the woods, just you and your sweetheart.

Fireplace Areas

Here at the Castle under a charming gazebo, you can snuggle up around the fire pit to enjoy the outdoors in warmth. This is a popular spot for conversation, tranquility, reflection, star-gazing, and of course s’mores. Grab a cup of hot cocoa, coffee or tea, or a glass of wine from one of our local Michigan wineries, for an extra special treat.
